The Art of the Sword (Part Five) Evangelism

Good morning.

Quoting the Bible makes our words powerful. If we speak under the anointing it’s the Lord’s prompting, but our own words, which has wisdom and power in itself. But if we speak God’s Word, the Bible, we’re quoting the Lord Himself. It’s therefore important to know the Bible well.

In our earlier series, ‘Be my Witnesses’, we mentioned that we should drop seeds of the gospel in the hearts of people all the time. If these seeds contain quotations from the Bible it’ll have life and power, which will sprout and grow as we water the seed through prayer and as others drop similar seeds in the individual’s life. There are many passages in the Bible that directly relates to salvation and you could start memorising them if you’d like to reach out to win souls for Jesus.

When an individual has received enough seed to bring him/her to the point where they are ready to receive the Lord, the Holy Spirit will use you, if you’re willing, to lead such a person to the Lord. But we need to be busy seeking for ripe fruit. “Seek and you will find,” (Matthew 7:7). If you’re tuned in to looking for opportunities to sow seeds of evangelism, the opportunity to lead someone to the Lord will present itself. Back in South Africa I worked half an hour’s drive from home and I always looked for opportunities to pick up a hitch hiker, since I knew exactly how long I had to sow seeds of the gospel. I used the approach in the blog ‘Fishing for Jesus’, which you would find under the link to your right on this blog called: LINK: How to win people for Jesus (Fishing for Jesus).

Many times I just sowed seeds, but often I was the fortunate person to actually lead such a person to the Lord and experienced the joy of seeing them being born again. As you would see, I didn’t wait for opportunities to present, but created the opportunity. We need to purposefully position ourselves to sow seeds and lead people to the Lord. As you study the approach on the blog ‘Fishing for Jesus’, you’ll notice it’s entirely Word based. I also listed many scripture passages at the end thereof that could be memorised to be used in sowing seeds and leading people to the Lord. The Sword of the Spirit - the Word of God - has much power under the anointing and, as Hebrews 4:12 says, “it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” of the person who hears it. The moment we speak the Word into the mind of any person, the Holy Spirit has something to work with and He will start prompting the person toward self-examination. Every time such a person hears more Word, they have more material that would test their hearts and as the seeds drop they get prepared. The guidelines you’ll find in the blog ‘Fishing for Jesus’ is a wonderful way to lead them to Jesus when they’re ready.

We’re busy preparing a video that goes along with the guidelines, which will make it easier to understand, but you may study the guidelines so long. Also memorise the scripture passages throughout the guidelines and at the end thereof.

In conclusion of this series, we need to read the Word and make it purposefully part of us so we could quote it. Once it fell on the soil of anybody’s mind for whatever purpose, the Holy Spirit can use the Sword to test us, reveal us and restore us.

Lord, please urge me to memorise and use your Word.

If you benefited from this, why don’t you link it to your Facebook or Twitter to make it available to your friends? You can also use the e-mail link to pass it on. Please also pray for the spreading of it to those who need it. Please feel free to ask questions or discuss thoughts.
